What to Expect

Youth

Welcome to Theophilus! We’re glad you’re here.

The Weekend is our conference where youth (middle and high school students) are able to encounter God and experience community together. By coming to the Weekend, we hope it is refreshing for your spirit and that you have an unforgettable time with other awesome youth. There will be all sorts of recreational activities, qualified speakers, and God-centered worship that engages with the Holy Spirit. Do not be surprised if you feel emotional during the Weekend, or if you have difficulty saying goodbye to the new brothers and sisters you met that were just roommates just days ago. This is Theophilus!

This year we will be exploring the theme of justice; what does God’s justice look like and how should we respond to the world? Join us as we explore justice at the Weekend from June 22nd to June 25th at Multnomah University.

Feel free to check out any of the videos from past years to get a better idea of what Theophilus is like.

Parents

Welcome to Theophilus! We’re glad you’re here.

It is our hope that as parents, you feel included in the whole Theophilus experience and process, and get to familiarize yourself with what your student is going into. While your student is at the Weekend, there will be plenty of opportunities for them to have fun and have a good time, but our bigger mission is for students to experience community and encounter God in a new way like they have never done before.

There will be all sorts of recreational activities, educated and well-known speakers, and God-centered worship that engages with the Holy Spirit on a deep level.

Your student may be a very different person after Theophilus. Maybe it will be a small change, like helping around the house with chores more and being kinder. Maybe it will be a big change, like starting a Bible study on their own with people from school, or trying to form a club to do service projects. Check out some of the [theo]stories from students who have come in past years, you just might be surprised to see what God is doing in some of the lives of these amazing youth.

“I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
